The latest and definite allergy management is in identifying the causative allergen (allergy-producing substances) by ALLERGY TESTING, and the patient is advised to take preventive measures either to avoid exposure or to immunomodulate (increasing our body’s resistance to that particle) so that in subsequent exposure, we can prevent the occurrence of allergic reactions. If the avoidance measures can't be implemented completely, the patient may need to use preventive medications.

Current management is a stepwise approach. Initially, we take a detailed history of the illness, working environment, and family history (as the majority of allergic diseases have a strong genetic backup). Then we conduct an environmental study of the patient's surroundings. Based on all this information, we plan an allergy testing.

After allergy testing, we decide the modality of treatment to be followed, that too only after discussing with the patient so that the patient will be very comfortable and relaxed.

The specialty of our clinic is that before starting any treatment or allergy testing, we clearly explain the pros and cons of the procedure and treatment so that the patient can choose.

Desensitization is done by administering the sensitive allergen to the body in different concentrations over a period of time. The body learns to accept the sensitized material as a part of the body, similar to normal persons, without reacting to the allergen exposed.

Different routes of allergen desensitization are currently used worldwide. The Subcutaneous Injections (SCIT) were popular over a century ago but had limitations and were resisted due to painful pricks for allergy sufferers. SCIT is now almost obsolete.

We use the latest and most modern SubLingual Swallow Immunotherapy (SLIT). This form of desensitization induces allergen tolerance, reduces allergic reactions, and allows the immune system to function normally, similar to non-allergic individuals, without recurrence of symptoms.

SLIT is preferred by users over SCIT due to its success rate and is currently an integral part of routine allergy management.

WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT OUR ALLERGY CLINIC?
