If the avoidance measures can't be implemented completely, patient may need to use the preventive medications.

Current management is a step wise approach. Initially we used to take a detailed history of the illness,working environment, family history(as majority of allergic disease have a strong genetic backup). Then we will go for an environmental study of patients surroundings. Based on all these informations, we will plan an allergy testing .

After an allergy testing we will decide the modality of treatment to be followed, that too only after discussing with the patient so that patient will be very comfortable and relaxed.

Desensitization is done by administering the sensitive allergen to the body by different concentrations over a period of time, the body learns to accept the sensitized material, as a part of the body, similar to normal persons without reacting to the allergen exposed.

Different routes of allergen desensitisation are currently done in the world. The Subcutaneous Injections (SCIT) were in vogue over a century and had limitations and were resisted, due to painful pricks by the persons who suffer from allergies. SCIT is almost obsolete now.

We are having the latest and most modern SubLingual swallow Immunotherapy (SLIT)*. The desensitisation induces allergen tolerance, reduces the allergic reaction and the immune system behaves normal as commonly seen in normal person without recurrence of symptoms.
